During archaeological work at the Jungfernsprung (Maiden's Leap) site, traces of an old settlement were found. The Provincial Office for Archaeology documented these findings and assigned them to earlier historical findings. The findings were again covered up, but their documentation will be made available to visitors to the Oybin Castle and Monastery in a different form as part of the joint permanent exhibition Krásná/Oybin.
Another part of the project is a new concept for the exhibition in the Bahrhaus (Cemetery). Due to the climatic conditions, the exhibition of originals is associated with demanding presentation requirements. In order to ensure the exhibition for visitors in the long term, replicas of historical tiles will be made by 3D scanning and 3D printing and their subsequent surface treatment will take place. In addition, some selected tiles will be available as tactile models for people with disabilities.
Currently, the project team, led by Kirsten Helmstedt, curator of the new joint permanent exhibition Krásná/Oybin, Part 2 (Oybin), is negotiating the approval of the procedure with the Provincial Office for Monument Preservation and the presentation of the tiles with the project partner, the municipality of Pěnčín.
